The Summer Science Program in Astrophysics
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology specializes in science and engineering education and research. Since 2003 Tech has hosted the Summer Science Program in Astrophysics, including access to Etscorn Observatory on the outskirts of campus, with its two Celestron C-14 reflecting telescopes. Tech offers dark skies, a dorm building all to ourselves, and a friendly, small-campus atmosphere.
Nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills, CU Boulder is a center for science and engineering, with particular strength in physics, astrophysics, aerospace, and science education. The Physics faculty includes four Nobel Laureates. SSP participants take their asteroid images using two DFM telescopes at the Sommers-Bausch Observatory on campus.
