Case for Support

Offering a first-class experience to these first-class students costs thousands of dollars more than the program fee. Admission is need-blind, and SSP is committed to offering generous need-based financial aid to every admitted applicant. Every summer, dozens of participants receive an additional discount, and those from the lowest income families attend absolutely free (read about them here). In 2017, need-based financial aid totaled $179,200 to 40 deserving students.

That’s why, after financial aid, families pay only about half of our costs. You can help bridge that gap!a team at the scope

My family could never have afforded this program. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that every deserving teenager should experience. SSP changed my life irrevocably. So it would cause pain to my heart to see a student, who is qualified in every way, not attend because of the cost. That’s why I will donate. And why you should do the same.” – Ammar Ahmed ’13
