SSP / Westmont (CA) Reunion Day
On Saturday, July 24, 2010, join us on the campus of Westmont College in Santa Barbara,
for a day and evening of stimulating interaction with SSP alumni, faculty, and students. The schedule:
- 11:30 - 12:00 Welcome & sign-in
- 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch with students
- 1:00 - 2:00 Board of Trustees meeting, announcement of election results
- 2:00 - 3:00 Tour of Westmont Campus
- 3:00 - 4:45 Alumni vs. students softball game / social time
- 4:45 - 5:30 Free time
- 5:30 - 6:00 Reception for alumni, faculty, guests, and students
- 6:00 - 7:00 Dinner
- 7:30 - 9:00 Guest lecture: Dr. Michelle Khine, Prof. of Biomedical Engineering / Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at UC Irvine, on "Nanotechnology"
- 9:00 - 10:00 Visit Westmont's 24" Keck telescope (pictured above) and SSP's two telescopes.
RSVP
If you plan to attend, RSVP online by July 14. An accurate advance head count is necessary to plan the meals. Families are welcome! Admission includes lunch and dinner: $30 for adults and $15 for children age 4-10.
Lodging
There are many hotels in the area. For convenience and value we recommend the Coast Village Inn (800-257-5131) and the Cabrillo Inn At the Beach (800-648-6708); mention Westmont College for a discounted rate.
Getting There
Westmont College is located in the hills above Santa Barbara, at 955 La Paz Road, Santa Barbara, 93108. Maps and directions are online.
