New Mexico Program Fee Waivers
The program fee covers all costs after arrival on campus: tuition, room & board, supplies, and local transportation during the program.
For 2011 SSP will offer full, automatic program fee waivers for residents of New Mexico who have applied and been admitted to SSP through the usual process, and who qualify at their school for free or reduced price lunch.
Others may apply for need-based financial aid.
Q. How do I ask for a fee waiver?
A. If you live in New Mexico, and you are admitted to SSP, we will give you further instructions at the time of your admission.
Q. How many fee waivers are available for eligible students?
A. There is no pre-set limit, except that SSP's total enrollment is limited to 36 at each of two campuses, and we get applications from students worldwide.
Q. If I qualify for the fee waiver, what will I still have to pay?
A. You will have to provide your own transportation to and from campus or the closest airport, and about $100 in spending money. Everything else is included: tuition, room & board, supplies, and local transportation during SSP.
Q. I don't qualify for reduced price lunch [or] I don't attend a public school, but my parents can't afford SSP. What should I do?
A. Go ahead and apply! If you are admitted, ask your parent to submit the financial aid application at that time.
You may qualify for full or partial financial aid; about half of our students do.
