Privacy of your personal information

This Web site is owned and operated by Summer Science Program, Inc. ("SSPI"), a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. This Web site's visitors can submit certain personal information to SSPI though the Web site. This page describes SSPI's policies governing information it collects from all individuals, including children under 13 years of age.

Who has access to your personal information

Only SSPI collects information from this Web site. SSPI's name, address, telephone number, and email address are shown on the contact us page.

SSPI will not disclose to other parties any individual personal information collected anywhere on this Web site from any person except as may be required by law without explicit and specific permission from the person it describes.

SSPI may disclose aggregated information to third parties. Examples of such aggregated information include the percentages of Summer Science Program alumni who later attended certain colleges or universities, who were granted certain degrees, or who entered certain professions. SSPI will not disclose to third parties any aggregated information from which it is possible to infer information about any individual from which it has collected information.

"Remind Me" information

Some persons visiting this site may be interested in applying for admission to SSPI's annual Summer Science Program but may not yet have reached the required grade level in school (tenth or eleventh grade) to qualify to apply for admission to the Program for the upcoming summer session. As a convenience, SSPI allows those students to submit their names, street addresses, email addresses, and school grade levels through a form on this site's "Remind Me" pages in order to be contacted occasionally by SSPI, via postal mail or email, until they become eligible to apply.

All such information must be entered through that form, on this site's "Remind Me" pages; no personal information is collected passively from site visitors. SSPI uses the information thus collected only for the purpose requested: to remind the site visitor occasionally about its Summer Science Program until he or she is eligible to apply. SSPI does not ask for more information on those pages than it considers necessary to achieve this purpose.

Policy regarding children Some persons who may wish to use the "Remind Me" pages may be under the age of 13. SSPI complies with applicable laws regulating the online collection of information from persons under the age of 13 by not collecting information from such children from its Web site.

Children under the age of 13 are asked not to submit information through this Web site, but are encouraged to sign up for the "Remind Me!" service by postal mail. Other areas on this Web site through which visitors can submit personal information are of interest and use only to persons 13 years of age or older. Those site pages also request that younger children not use them.

SSPI welcomes your questions and comments about its privacy policy.
